There is a game that combines jigsaw puzzles and math problems.

An upcoming indie puzzle game replaces the complexity of circuits with familiar puzzle pieces and simple calculations. Electrogical, which is scheduled for release this year and is currently being demoed, involves placing pieces on a board to create chains and then adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying to reach a set output, but the shapes and rotations of the pieces are fixed, the size of the board is odd, and not all of the successful parts are not always needed.

As both a puzzle game and a math game, it is fairly easy to pick up and aims to reward the player's creative approach, with no time or number of attempts limit. The cool part is when you start messing with the formulas: the Challenge level offers simple solutions, but depending on your goal, you can aim for higher scores by using more or fewer pieces, or by creating shapes with the pieces or balancing the math like an equation. bonuses.

Electrogical has won awards even though it has not yet been released. It was the winner of the GYAAR Studio indie game contest sponsored by Namco Bandai last year.

“Electricity, hardware, and technology are very complex topics, but anyone can understand the basics if you break it down to its simplest form, and Electrogical is a game about the fundamentals of electrical engineering,” Yui Kaneshiro, developer of Electrogical said in a press release.

The demo currently on Steam is quite long and has some cute puzzles to play with. It takes a while to get started with the complexities, but it has the added benefit of making it easier to get into the style of game Electrogical is aiming for. There's even a clever and cute scene where you have to solve a circuit that erases the music currently playing and replaces it with the next song on the soundtrack. Digetic! I love it.

You can find Electrogical and its demo on Steam.
