"Elden Ring: Shadow of the Eldestree" raises the bar for "fashion soul" players in their pursuit of the ultimate RPG endpoint: finding the cleanest possible fit. And by "raise the bar," I mean establish the concept, at least lore-wise, of being able to strap a demigod to yourself like a piggyback ride. It's the ultimate drip. Sadly, the game doesn't allow you to equip your demigod with a backpack, so ApolloHoo has released a mod that fixes that.

"Ranni's Promised Consort Tarnished" is not the most descriptive title for a mod, but the image on the Nexus Mods page gets the point across: like Godfrey's lion or a certain boss in the DLC, everyone You can carry your favorite moon witch on your back. She doesn't do anything special on her back, but if you're a newlywed with a new game+ you can think of it as a honeymoon in Lands Between.

According to the comments on the Nexus Mod page, the installation is tricky. You have to unzip the folder and may get an error (I did). Several people in the comments have uploaded the "modified" contents of the folder, but I'll let you decide how much you trust a file download from a random Nexus Mod stranger. Several commenters say it worked without any special help. It's worth scrolling through the comments, however, for instructions on how to prevent Ranni from appearing misaligned on your character and how to switch the weapon that makes her appear (the default is the Finger Seal).

Modder ApolloHoo has a similar mod that will spoil the DLC combat, but will help you understand how to make the backpack Ranni work properly ApolloHoo actually has a mod that reuses NPC and enemy models for other uses. They have several. Such as a mod that turns a horse into a Divine Dragon from "Sekiro" and a mod that somehow turns Fia's bed into a weapon.

Hopefully ApolloHoo will clean up the mod files or write an installation tutorial, Seamless Co-op modders better watch out. Ranni at Backpack may be the only co-op partner you need.
