Once Human's season is over, all progress is not lost.

Once Human's season is over, all progress is not lost.

The free-to-play survival game "Once Human" offers a typical survival game launch experience. With over 100,000 concurrent players at its peak, it is currently one of the top games on Steam.

One of the slightly different aspects of "Once Human" is its seasonal structure: each server is associated with a "seasonal scenario" and when the season ends, that server disappears and a new seasonal server is launched with a new scenario. Some players are prepared for their progress to be completely erased at the end of the first six weeks of scenarios, but developer Starry Studios explained in a post on Steam today that the system is not that extreme.

"We know that many players are concerned that their in-game progress will reset in 6 weeks, but that will not happen! The studio wrote." We value the time and effort you have put into this game, so the items and equipment you have acquired in the season scenarios will be retained in various forms."

While it is true that when a new season begins, characters will return to level 1 and start on a new, undisclosed map, players will be able to carry over quite a bit of their progress between seasons, including blueprints, furnishing, cosmetics, and custom house designs. Completed story tasks will be remembered, and players will be able to redo a "streamlined" version and reap the associated rewards. Resources such as ammunition and medicine are also "partially" carried over.

Here is the full list of what will be carried over, in the words of the developers:

In other words, it's not a complete reset, but it's enough to challenge players with a new seasonal threat by making them climb the tech tree again: according to Starry Studio, The new season will introduce "different seasonal objectives and special gameplay mechanics," which will depend on whether it is a PvE or PvP server.

So far, my Once Human experience has not been challenging, but see the clip below of me approaching a zombie dude, parking my motorcycle awkwardly, and beating up a mob.

Starry Studio has also said that in the future they may introduce permanent scenarios and scenarios longer or shorter than 6 weeks. The full article can be read here.
