A sequel to the comical action-adventure game "Journey to the Savage Planet" is apparently in the works, despite the technical closure of the studio that originally produced it. The original studio Typhoon, which was disbanded, has reunited as Raccoon Logic and is working on an unidentified sequel codenamed "Lodestar."

Raccoon Logic declined PC Gamer's request for comment.

A report by MP1st confirmed a Canadian intellectual property application and a call for voice actors on a publicly available website. The application listed the name "Revenge of the Savage planet" and the casting call included "a formally dressed science fiction spokesperson" and various roles that appeared to be in-game commercials.

Despite some positive reviews, the developer of Journey to the Savage Planet was shut down as part of the overall closure of Google's ill-fated venture Stadia - Google acquired Typhoon just before Journey's January 2020 release, closed in early 2021. Typhoon reopened as Raccoon Logic in late 2021 and has been fairly quiet since.

If you enjoyed the previous title, this should be quite exciting: on PC Gamer, Journey to the Savage Planet scored 84%, with reviewer Phil Iwaniuk saying, "Whether it's survival, shooting, comedy It's not a metroidvania or a platformer, it's a fusion of genres".

"Typhoon Studios has created something else with its debut film. It gives the realistic feeling of being stranded in a huge, unknown, alien environment, but the path through it is carefully designed."
