Who wants a Watch Dogs movie?

Who wants a Watch Dogs movie?

Remember back in 2013 when Ubisoft announced plans for a movie based on the "Watch Dogs" series? No, I think Ubisoft forgot about it. Since then, the project has shown little signs of life, but earlier this year a beep sounded in the ECG and suddenly the lead actor and director were chosen.

And now it appears that Ubi has finally decided to make a film version of Watch Dogs, which it announced three years ago; a recent tweet on Ubi's official Twitter page shows a clapboard of a movie set with "Watch Dogs" written on it, and just below it is the previously announced director Mathieu Turi's name. The text of the tweet consists of the words "Lights_Camera_Action.exe" and the hashtag "Watch Dogs Movie," and Ubi even tags the entertainment company New Regency, just in case.

As if it wasn't obvious from this alone that production on the movie has begun, the alt text on the photo reads, "Filmed on the set of the movie Watch Dogs." It also says, "The background looks like a person facing a computer," which is exactly the kind of thing I would put in a "Watch Dogs" movie if I were asked to make one.

No other details are known at this point, but it looks like this could actually happen in the relatively near future, compared to the 11 years we've been waiting. We also have no idea what the plot will be: will it focus on the delightful friends of 2? Or will Aiden Pierce and his iconic hat make a return appearance?

We'll have to wait to find out. All we know so far is that Sophia Wilde from "Talk to Me" and Tom Bryce from "The Hunger Games" will appear in unannounced roles. There will also be a computer-operated character.
