Does Apple feel okay?" reports indicate that it is suspending work on Vision Pro2 to focus on making a cheaper version

The Apple Vision Pro headset may not have been a huge success for the company, but according to an analyst report, production numbers were significantly reduced due to sluggish sales. Chief user complaints (among many) include cracking of the screen, feeling isolated and looking like a plum in wearing. Price: 3,499 yen (tax included, shipping included)

Currently, Apple is doing the least Apple thing, and it is reported that it is suspending work on the next generation of devices in favor of cheaper models.

The company is said to have informed at least one of its suppliers that work on Vision Pro2 had been suspended in order to prioritise versions with fewer cameras, simpler headbands and smaller speakers (via MacRumors). This cheaper version, codenamed "N109", has been developed since 2022 and aims to retail at the same price as the high-end iPhone.

Importantly, however, Apple is said to be keen to keep its fancy internal display components the same. The original Vision Pro was criticized in many ways, but some reviewers pointed out that the internal display was impressive, so if Apple could pull it off, a much cheaper unit with the same essential hardware would probably be a bit of a winner.

Not only that, these high-end displays are almost certainly the most expensive part of the device. Keeping the best bit while reducing massive end costs is, if true, a very, well, professional consumer. And it's just magnificent.

Another big criticism was the overall weight of the original device, depending on the specs it ranged between 600 to 650g.Even with its lightest configuration, it's a bit heavier than 100G under Oculus (Meta) Quest 2, and it can make a considerable difference when it comes to something that straps in front of your face.

However, the new model is reportedly focused on being much lighter. This is the same display as the previous model, but with a simple neck, less camera and much less cash. stay organized!

At this point it's unclear whether you still look like someone trapped in overly tight scuba goggles while wearing one.

Still, if these rumors prove, Apple is more focused on consumer costs and sophistication than the upgraded specs. It would be refreshing to see a lot of people come to see it.

Otherwise, the original Vision Pro might be considered one of the worst launches in Apple's history, even worse than the least comfortable mouse in the world (personal opinion, I'm rushing to add). If you bought the original Vision Pro, you might have worn an expensive prototype for something that eventually turned out to be much tastier. ey' early adoption in high-tech industry, your risk.
