The big patch of Elden Ring is causing big problems for steam deck players

The big Elden ring patch dropped today before Erdtree's launch shadow does a lot of good things - you can finally change the map keys - but it's causing some headaches for Steam Deck users.

"Steam deck-related issues have been identified and hotfixes are being worked on," FromSoft said. "If you leave the Steam deck inactive for more than 5 minutes, it may stop the game from accepting input."

The Elden Ring is Steam Deck Verified and has been tested and confirmed to work perfectly on Valve's handheld devices. That's pretty nice to it, too: There were some early technical hiccups, but the update took care of it and best Steam Dec"

This new bug is a headache, but seemingly easy to avoid: If you need to step away, get yourself on the site of Grace. However, while some Elden Ring players have reported a potentially big problem on Reddit, when they try to start the game after the patch has been installed, they say, "Inappropriate activity

This is clearly a completely different issue from the broken inputs issue." It's not clear how widespread the issue is, but complaints have been posted in multiple threads on reddit and Steam. The game obviously remains offline and playable, but as one redditor puts it, "I really need an invasion and try to jump" messages to fully enjoy this, especially the DLC obviously adds a ton of vertical gameplay."

FromSoft has not commented on this particular issue yet, but it seems a lot harder to avoid than the input bug, so hopefully you'll hear something soon I've been reaching out for more details on the bug and will be updated if I receive a reply.
