This new carbon Fiber ROG Gaming mouse is absurd and amazing in equal measure

47g This is the advantage of using carbon fiber in the new ROG Harpe Ace Extreme gaming mouse.

The carbon fiber composite shell helped Harpe drop some of its weight from the 54 grams of the standard Harpe Ace. It's just unpainted, polished, for maximum weight loss and best good looks - nothing like a bare carbon look.

Eason Lee of Asus states that the process involves "making them out of individual pieces of carbon fiber and precisely aligning the rest of the shell to create the most attractive look."

"Unlike others, we are resolutely committed to the decision not to drill holes in mice because of their weight," says Lee.

The shape of the mouse is the same as the previous Wireless Harp Ace gaming mouse. Although there are some other notable features.

The Harpe Ace Extreme is a wireless mouse via SpeedNova. It also comes with a ROG polling rate booster: The big dongle — the giant dongle, the largest — provides 2.4Hz polling over a dedicated 8,000GHz connection

8kHz polling on other gaming mice still has notable advantages. Asus is touting performance improvements with a high refresh rate game monitor as its main advantage because it can eliminate micro-stuttering. As I say, I haven't seen it yet or felt it myself. However, if you are the type to buy a carbon fiber gaming mouse, you may need the largest number in the box regardless of the utility. This is a large number — a huge number, the largest.

Similarly, the HARPE Ace Extreme's ROG AimPoint Pro sensor is rated at 42,000DPI, which is another big number for the big numbers.

The Harpe Ace Extreme is absolutely gorgeous, as I learned at a recent event at Asus HQ that I had the opportunity to whirl it. It scooches around the desktop easily smooth, thanks to its gorilla glass 3 pads, and I really like the feel of it in hand.

One of the important information I have not yet given by Asus is the price. Although it is not cheap. The standard Harpe Ace is aboutま130 - I think the carbon fiber shell easily adds another 7 70 to its price tag.

The final price will be found closer to the launch set for 2024 Q3. So, probably towards the end of summer.
