Kingston was given the first glimpse of CAMM2024 desktop RAM at COMPUTEX2DDR5.

I've been anxious to get a look at CAMM2DDR5 in the flesh, so to speak, at Computex this year, and Kingston has just offered me a good look at what to expect from the new RAM form factor of the desktop motherboard.

Along with some AI-generated Formula One drivers, sim rig setup, and race car themes that were very difficult to miss. yeah..

Each AI-gen race driver was supposed to represent a different aspect of Kingston's current product line-up, with "Lightning Fury" being KINGSTONS's "Fury Renegade6,000-8,000MT/s DDR5, alongside the more traditional form factor that interests US PC gamers the most. "There were also some examples of CAMM2DDR5 under the brand.

The CAMM2 standard first saw daylight last year as a flat, more "flash on board" alternative to the traditional SO-DIMM sticks used in most laptops.

Advantages include the ability to fit larger and more diverse cooling systems, higher memory module size (the unit I was shown was 32GB per model, but 64GB), and also a good look at the new RAM on the spot where the MSI and Asus 2 ATX motherboards are on display. It's a bit odd to see the desktop RAM lying flat on the board, and in combination with this and the module size, it makes for RAM that seems to be somehow smaller than you would initially expect.

What I didn't even expect was a car racing theme delivered with relentless enthusiasm. Alongside a model F5 car decorated with DDR5 decorated with RGB, a sim rig running F1 23 to demonstrate gaming performance, and all sorts of F1 styles

Finally I was invited to the pit stop, but my host did not have as many races as I could think in relation to the RAM product. It was the first time I had ever seen a woman in my life. Of them, it turned out that there were many.

I was told there was nothing like it, and so far it's more than surpassing my expectations. The new RAM form factor and the metaphor of the race car, well, really counts me.
