"We're blind to any of the feedback and we're absorbing it all."

Framework laptops are getting better. Of course, not like magic, but we recently announced a new framework with a core Ultra7 laptop and a mainboard 13. But while this new upgrade marks a welcome fourth generation of Intel-based framework mainboards, it will be the biggest shadow on the entire future platform

"One of the biggest community pieces of community feedback is like I'm looking for a high-resolution display" And Framework's Marissa Buyck told me

It was also my main concern I had been using the 13-inch model as my daily driver for a while, but I have a higher resolution screen Which is why I have been upgrading the laptop I've been waiting for.

And from quickly getting a new 500nits panel tucked in Computex's deserted corner, it's definitely a faster screen. I don't have the exact timing, and I tess it in a deeper way than a quick spin on the Windows desktop just before Wright went out in the show hall

The second main area of interest in the community was around cooling. My AMD-based and previous Intel-based Framework13 fans can have a powerful chatter when it comes to really heavy workloads.

"We've worked specifically with Intel," Buyck says, "cooling is better than ever, quieter fans, quieter start-ups...All we've been working on the battery also, so we've been tuning it, trying to improve it as much as possible.

"It's all about improving these performance improvements as much as possible. So, yeah, a lot of it was just working with Intel to optimize, a lot of it was working with our own software and firmware team to make sure we're making sure those fan curves are appropriate. And the additional ones, too, are the same as finding the right part. Finding the right, small, small parts that can help you improve that experience."

comes from tweaking cooling levels and listening to that community when it comes to sourcing new high-resolution panels at a decent price ("A fully custom display, it's so expensive").

"We literally collect it all. We are blind to any of the feedback and we absorb it all.

and it also extends to the user's adjustable fan curve. That's what I wanted in both Framework 13, but even in larger framework 16, it seems to have a second job as a leaf blower

"That's what we're aware of," Buyck says. "But I can tell you the fan noise — so quiet thermal to support you — and also this display, because they're fee, we're very aware and we're very focused on improving any area we can see.""

So the reason why framework machines are always getting better is because of your feedback. Gone

But in the world, and with a show that seems to be obsessed with AI and now AI PCs, where does it leave the framework? Are you going to see a sequel to the current Ryzen7000 series mainboard ryzen AI300?

"Nothing in our roadmap can be revealed," buyck says with a depressing inevitability, but releases products, whether 13-inch or 16-inch, so we support them with upgrades, repair paths that our customers are looking forward to. Continue.

and snapdragon.

"We want to make sure we have as many options as possible and we will continue to consider new partnerships."

I was told not to read too much in that statement, and also to Buyck's broad smile at the question. They're smiley people, they tell me. But I can't help but feel a bit excited by the possibility of an X Elite or X Plus mainboard upgrade for my framework 13. Multi-day battery life, cooler performance, and still specific game frame rates "Yeah, sign me up for that update." I call that my own community feedback.
