The latest patch for Hades 2 drops the nerf hammer on everyone's favorite overwhelming build, but players are surprisingly cool with it

We said in May that Hades 2 is "absolutely worth playing with Early Access", and now thanks to a major new patch it went live today Early Access

This patch replaces "dozens" of placeholder icons in the interface and adds core combat and related features. A large number of Ba"aimed at enhancing the choice" made it possible to encounter one additional Olympian every night, as was in the original Hades, and also increased the probability of finding benefits and other major rewards while in Erebus.

There is no major headline fix in this patch — instead, like the previous patch, developer Supergiant improved Sprint, reducing the hassle of level, enemies, graphics, audio, and resource collection that makes sense to a particular weapon or combat capability, "feedback and volunteers" from players. I believed this to "Tier gameplay data." The studio also promised that Boone's update is coming with the next update.

As much as players are already enjoying Hades 2, the response to this patch seems very positive. Players have previously pointed out that Momus is very OP, and not in terms of being almost broken, but no longer, and there are understandable disappointments, but the reaction to the change seems broadly positive. "As Momus simp, I'm upset that the heavy machine gun is gone, but I think this is healthier for the game overall," redditor Jabroni_Balogni wrote. "Momus was far more than everything in the game (except perhaps the bread knife)."

"I miss the old Momus for its ridiculous damage output, but this is a much more interesting weapon," redditor CobaltGrey added.

Some players speculate that the reworked Momus is actually more powerful, but it's also more complex to use. "The new Momus increases the damage of an already very strong movement by 3 times.

Supergiant reiterated today's timeframe on Twitter, saying it expected the game to stay in early access "at least until the end of 2024" when Hades2 was launched. That said, it seems to be doing pretty well so far: Despite being unfinished, Hades2 notched about 38,000 user reviews on Steam

The full patch notes contain quite a few hidden spoilers, so I posted them here. No — The level of attention you feel properly on Steam
