Aerocool calculates that the new power supply will last at least 15 years and offers a warranty to prove it

I'm supposed to visit Aerocool at Computex2024. The company is showing off some new cases, coolers and fans, but I'm most interested in the new power supply. Yes, they're still plain black boxes with cables falling off, but Aerocool promises a big bump in warranty with the latest models.

"Usually this is up to 10 years," an Aerocool rep tells me. "This is 15 years.

The exact model with this incredibly long warranty is the Max P1 1300/1000W. It's a 135—plus platinum PSU with all Japanese capacitors, a massive 80 mm silent fluid dynamic bearing fan, and a mahoosive front grille- this grille doesn't have a fan and grille arm in parallel that noctua was eager to point out but is great for noise. It is not new.

The Max P1 is manufactured by CWT, which is responsible for many of Corsair's PSUs. Of course, Aerocool wants to point this out.

The Max P1 is a platinum model, but further down the stack is gold and bronze. These are largely correlated with the 80Plus rating that applies to each PSU, but the warranty period is also different.

The entire range runs from the largest 15 years to the cheapest 5 years. I'm told it's competitive in warranty all the way down the stack, and it certainly looks like it is. The Smart B1, the lowest with 80 Plus bronze certification, comes with a 7-year warranty. It's pretty darn good.
