Co—op base survival, floating empty islands, and mech dwarfs - do I need to continue?

If you think about it now, dwarves are perfect for mechs. They mine the most sturdy metal, you need if you're going to make a mech. They are great engineers who are able to build amazing mechanical equipment, so why can't they get inside, they make huge Honkin weapons like hammers and axes — exactly the kind of stuff that giant robots would be better at swinging around.

Developer Star Drifters noticed that Mechs and Dwarves go together like peas and carrots some time ago, and the First Dwarf demo, a co-op base-building survival game, is now open to the public, with early access starting at 6/19. Check out the launch trailer revealed at the Future Games Show:

But creating and trampling dwarfs with giant mechs isn't the only draw for First Dwarf. As you build your colony and research new technologies to create more advanced structures, you'll also build tower defense systems with turrets and walls, because the island is teeming with mutated creatures that flock to the base at night.

To make things even cooler, your dwarves have empty ships that can build new colonies, find new blueprints and resources, and sail to other floating islands in this fractured world.

Dwarves, Mechs, floating islands, Sky ships, Tower Defense, Craft, Colony Survival "You can even play co-op with friends." That's the whole lotta thing I can get behind. I'm now jumping into the first dwarf demo.
