As Meridia's Super Colony proves a little too Super, the new Heldivers 2 major order has some major problems

The same dark liquid that spaghetti some scientists at Helldivers2 has been used to annihilate Terminid supercolony, according to the latest major order. But there's a problem — bespoke dark fluid missions, you know, they're really hard. Cruel, even. And I don't mean "git gud" or "just play lower difficulty", but in a way that something is obviously wrong.

Here's how one of these missions is supposed to play out: You and the other three unlucky sods fall into Supercolony, Meridia in need of their own spaghettification You can use as a dark fluid backpack (it can also be used as a jetpack which is fun). Call drill the ass to reach the drill site, defend it and extract.

Except that Terminids don't really want you to be there — that's fair enough, for sure. It's a super colony of buggers. I would get onboard with the rise in difficulty for these very solid theme reasons, the only bug violation, where Terminid pours out of an impromptu hole, they spo

Don't believe me'Here is a screenshot I took myself and there are some circles for pointers. Pay attention to where the drill is, now pay attention to where the violation is. You are starting to see the problem.

Shriekers (those flying bugs that currently exist and are always present) have also proven to be a terrible nuisance, and even some obscene number of lower difficulty Here is one unfortunate soul who gets bombed by the unruly clouds of bug birds on the "trivial" difficulty of the game.

Yeah, something's up— there's a difference between the challenges and getting your drill instagibbed by a bile Titan spitting within the desired spitting distance, or the feelings of the new pre-community are almost the same in the game's subreddit.

"If a Level 1 mission produces 100 shouts in the head, you can't tell people to 'lower the difficulty'. It's just cheesy advice," writes the diver, who peed particularly in a thread with more than 6,800 votes in favor at the time of writing. Another player wrote:

"We are all very experienced, I personally have 350+ hours in [the game]...The bug violation apparently spo to the right of the structure drill, the environment was designed to have 3 choke points where the bug was supposed to come. How is everyone supposed to defend this, every time you load the dark fluid into the drill, the breach appears with tons of hive guards, chargers and Titans, it can basically shoot one drill' What was the design philosophy behind it?

Fortunately, the spawn rate doesn't really seem intended: "Thanks to everyone who made me aware of the spawn bug in the current primary order," says community manager Baskinator "The fix is currently working for that issue and will be deployed as soon as possible." We will let you know as soon as it becomes available.

Honestly, now is a difficult time for Helldivers2. Since the recent PSN community drama and the icy reception of the latest Warbond, even though former CEO Johan Pilestedt has moved to put balance adjustments and the future of the game into practice, the studio has really needed a win, but this doesn't seem to be the case.
