Oh god, the stalker of Helldivers2 doesn't actually look, right now

A major Helldivers2 balance patch fell earlier this week — most divers (appropriately) tuned and tuned shiny weapons over one important, yet sneaky change"

That means it's a harmless enough tweak to the face of it. Stalkers, Terminid's invisible shock troopers, used to be quite dangerous — they often popped up at the worst — but they weren't exactly stealth - despite their ability to cloak like predators, you could usually see their contours from quite a distance.

Those days are gone. As shown by some unfortunate divers, the stalker is now well and truly invisible:

This not only increases the chances of being attacked by ambush predators that everyone doesn't like the most, but also makes finding their nest much harder — you won't be able to know which direction they're coming from until they're above you. Fortunately, there are some counter-plays that you can keep in mind.

First of all, if there is a radar station on the map, you can prioritize it first — you can mark all the nests for summary release. Alternatively, if you notice that there are stalkers in the field, you can check the radar regularly — they still appear as blips, so if you see a red dot charging you with an invisible bug, that's where the nest is.

Honestly, I'm all for this change. Terminoids are fun to fight, but they are very kiteable — often you can only survive the herd by smart use of movement. The stalkers felt like they were meant to shake this dynamic, but never did. Allowing Buggers to actually sneak up on you makes them a heck of a lot more threat.

It also feels like a thematic extension of the current major order, let's just hope that Bile Titan does not develop the same defense mechanism this was absolutely not pumping Terminids with steroids, or all is really lost.
