Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite (MVCI) is getting remastered, but not from Capcom. As announced on Twitter, popular fighting game community YouTuber and streamer Maximillian Miles Christensen (Maximilian Dood) made a full top-to-bottom overhaul of the 2017 fighter's visual style

"We're in the early stages and we've got just a few days of tinker, but already the results are absolutely incredible." "It's so much more than I can imagine," Christensen wrote, linking to a quote tweet from some of Ryn's current WIPs. One of the screenshots, taken especially among the MVCI community, shows Ryu with a gorgeous look in a cell shade that gives Spider-Man a Shoryuken what-for.1

"Have you changed the direction of the lighting" Can you do that? The amazing commenter Ryn responded to wrote, "Yeah, I can change the f*ckton of things" — perhaps while wearing sunglasses.

It's a really surprising difference, especially when compared side by side. Here's a direct comparison shot courtesy of MarrowOchi on Twitter. The strange Xbox360 era textures and playdough cloudy sky lighting make way for cell shading, Ben Day-style dots, and vivid color contrast.

Christensen later uploaded a summary of the project to his YouTube channel and told me how the mod had avalanche on an ambitious remaster.

As to why he is paying out of pocket"Spending thousands of their dollars on mod games effectively the net never met the return"I simply do it, number one, because I care, and I think many people's efforts will be compensated in some way. I think it is necessary.

After the image above was infected with the virus, Christensen adds:, He had a flood of interest from other mods, but he "probably won't be able to speak in the future — but a lot of people show up and say, "I want to help."..It was like, "I want art, I want music."Speaking to IGN, Ryn herself says, "The hardest part was figuring out the changes Capcom made to the rendering engine," but "I feel incredible seeing the hard work paid off."

Whatever Christensen has shown so far, "hard work" is really appropriate here. While showing off Ryu in the aforementioned YouTube video, he revealed that Ryn actually remodeled the character's face to better catch the lighting from the new shader.Ryu's dirty ass face...It seemed that the face of this man could not catch the light and translate it in a way that made sense. He's f*cking his ugly ass in the game. But like Ryn, he remodeled his face to better capture the light.

All he can do to sing her praise is: "It's crazy to have someone who knows Unreal Engine 4 I'm like 'Hey, hi changing the color of the Rim lighting'.And it is done like 30 minutes. As for the future plans, Christensen says, "I can effectively find an art style that feels good and start applying it to the rest of the roster," and the amount of know-how they have, and the amount of things I like to shoot her direction, and the speed at which things were going online is absolutely wild...I can not wait."
