Eyeing Helldivers 2 backlash with a strained flop sweat, sucker punch shows that the ghosts of Tsushima do not need PSN login for single player.

PlayStation5samurai slice'em up Ghost Of Tsushima has finally come to PC in 16 months, and with all sturm and drang around Sony stablemate Helldivers2 introducing PSN login requirements, developer Sucker Punch wants to remind you that most single-player ghosts in Tsushima rarely need it. It's a good idea.

The clarification was first discovered by BluesNews: Probably in response to a Twitter comment that has been hidden since referring to the controversy-and I assume not in a friendly way that you don't need to play a single-player game."

Now, this was my first clue that the Ghosts of Tsushima also had an online component: the historical focus of its Assassin's Creed style, Or Legends, looks like a co-op horde mode that is largely siloed from the base game— a cool extra, but even if you don't want to sign in. Well worth the money

It's honestly not necessary to get another account involved in things with Sony's PC lineup to go full single player -it's more than I can say for Halo Master Chief Collection, that Microsoft account penalty. Negan has been an obstacle to my enjoyment of these games so far.

Helldivers2 controversy, on the other hand, seems to be primarily a matter of roll-out and communication: players already have to deal with the extra hassle after months of play
