Hades2 hit 100k simultaneous Steam players and crushed the original record after the release date of Early Access

After yesterday's surprise Early access release, Hades2 has already hit more than 100,000 concurrent players on Steam, tripling the record for the first game on the platform.

Hades2 has hit 103,567 concurrent players early today, hovering around 100,000, according to SteamDB. Hades1 has only reached its 2020 concurrency of 37,749 in just a few days after its full launch on Steam.

The first Hades is one of our favorite Roguelike action RPGs and has won several awards, including several Baftas.1 However, its 2019early access release was dedicated to the Epic Games Store; It did not come to steam until it was over. However, Hades 2 is available in both from the start, which helps explain the larger turnout.

All fans of the frivolous Greek gods and goddesses and satisfying battles of Hades have also probably appeared. And it helps that the early access release of Hades2 is much more complete than anyone had expected.

Supergiant Games has already spent three years working on it, and it shows: There are several characters to speak with, areas to explore, weapons to wield, and Supergiant "has more environments, enemies, and full voice characters than the full version of the original Hades game." "It's a very important thing," he said.

Supergiant expects to keep Hades2 in early access "at least until the end of 2024," according to the in-game roadmap, and plans to add another area, weapons and decoration system for the forest encampment within a few months.

After spending some time with Hades 2, it feels close to a beta where most things are finished and just need polish, the only apparently unfinished things throughout the system are works of art like character portraits and memorabilia. Unless you want to see an ending that says Supergiant isn't in the game yet, there's no real reason to wait until the final release. It seems that I am not the only one who thinks so.

Hades2 is now in early access on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
