Ubisoft wants to make it very clear that Defiant has no winning element.

XDefiant had previously announced that it would not use skill-based matchmaking to group players into casual queues, and is now out to convince players that it will not allow paid-to-win features to break into upcoming FPS games.

XDefiant will release tomorrow and Ubisoft has a new blog post explaining its decision not to include the pay-to-win route in the game."XDefiant has a version of Battle Pass, but obviously, these will focus on cosmetics. The game offers the usual things: character skins, weapon skins, MVP player animations, player cards and emoji packs.

"Our goal is to provide amazing customization options that reward every game, victory or even defeat we put into the game," Ubisoft says. "When you play another match, all of your time and energy will unlock the content through a battle pass or challenge."

Locking the customizations behind the paywall is a fairly standard practice for many games, and FPS games are particularly good for models. Be Enthusiastic It's not always an obvious sailing: Overwatch2 was in hot water at release due to an expensive bunch of skin that many players called greedy, but there were a few opportunities where purchasable items could give players a helping hand. Warzone players have previously been arm-in-arm about the paid Doom bundle, including Super Shotgun, which was too strong for its own benefit (to be honest, it's kinda

these accidents that Ubisoft is wary of, and it's definitely a gamble to be very explicit about XDefiant's lack of pay-to-win). I'm playing in a rally. "We know this is an important topic," Ubisoft says. "A topic that requires reflection and evaluation. As XDefiant progresses, we listen to your feedback as well as player surveys and in-game player data, and always make sure that we are a fair and engaging ka"
