Call of Duty: Black Ops6, as is officially known, will be revealed on the Black Ops6Direct stream, which will follow shortly after the Xbox Game Showcase on 9/6. Details of what can be expected on the show have not been shared but Activision said it would be a "full public" including whether to stick to the official title numbering scheme

Current expectations are that Black Ops 6 will carry the series forward from the previous game's 1980s setting, Black Ops: Cold War, the Gulf War of 1990-91. It doesn't look like an irrational move, but the teaser site doesn't let anything slip to its fore: the third video added today features fake "breaking news" clips of U.S., British and German monuments stained with various "truth and lies" graffiti, all of which appear in orange cerberus. It bears the logo of Ross. (For the record, I don't think it's officially described by anyone yet as the Cerberus logo, but I'm calling it and nobody stops me)

Frankly, I think I like the way Activision pulled the curtain back at this early stage: especially when early bullying is focused on fictional homes. There is still a lot to figure out and guess when you think about how to do it. But at least now we can stop pretending we don't know which Call of Duty is coming this year.
