"Personal Best KD at 0.23": XDefiant is handing out trophies to suck players participating

XDefiant found that many players found solace in FPS much like the one that Call of Duty was back in the day, with a shaky launch (it's an expected matchmaking question, but some players found it a bit less welcome than they wanted).

Some people have posted a game-ending screen on r/XDefiant, but that's not very forgiving. Player Vince_-glumly says, "Thanks for making me feel special," accompanied by an image showing him "running around" next to his character, rather than the usual kill/death ratio. And everyone agreed that this is absolutely hilarious.

Most people think that psychologically in these moments after the game, when you have to stare at a particularly brutal K/D with the teammates who were most certainly carrying you, I can do this by convincing myself that no one else has seen my score, and that it's not so important. But these new shame stickers of XDefiant are pretty hard to miss.

This also pushes others to share the brutal participation awards they received: "I saw what a man had 'block damage 10324'," one other phrase includes "showed up", "personal best kd at0.23", "tried", and "moral support". Honestly, if I get 1 of these, I think I'll probably take it as a sign that I should be logged off for the night, but shout out to the people who keep pushing, it's the best mental fortitude.

While XDefiant isn't as sophisticated as its FPS counterpart yet (I find the hit reg particularly frustrating), it's still very early for Ubisoft's new game, and it also helps that the system requirements are phenomenally low and Ubisoft has decided to discontinue SBMM on its casual playlist: "It's a great game. I think in-lobby team balancing and lobby persistence are great features within the overall non-SBMM matchmaking architecture," one player said in a Reddit thread. "It really does feel like an old FPS experience."

These features hopefully encourage players to stick around and give XDefiant the opportunity to release a couple of patches, despite its current problems Hopefully, the ridicule will never go away."
