As the Sims 4 continues to buckle under the weight of over1,200+ worth of DLC, EA "gathered the team" to focus on bug fixes

Buckle Simmers, we're (hopefully) on the cusp of some meat fix for the Sims 4. As EA continues to pile up expansions and kits on top of games nearing the big 1-0, crash and buggy gameplay has become part of The Sims4 experience. It became a very frustrating time — recently I began to crawl back into the loving arms of The Sims2 in retaliation — and EA finally found the issue to be ignored

In a tweet on the official Sims account, the developer admitted that things were getting a bit out of control. "We know that a technical issue with The Sims4 is disrupting gameplay over time, and we realize that this is causing you a lot of frustration," the statement read. "Today we can share that we have gathered a team that will invest in the core gaming experience, including addressing your reported concerns."

I mean, to me, it sounds like something the developers should have already done, but I digress. The tweet continues: ""With this newly formed and focused team, we can increase both the number of fixes and the frequency with which we ship these batch updates""The first one should arrive sometime before the end of the month, with the following updates maintaining a cadence of about two months.

It's nice to see EA directly address the issue and promise greater efforts to fix it, but I can't help but agree with the sentiment "I believe it when I see it" expressed in the tweet reply. It has been a good few years since the investigation around fixing the Buggy Pack went around, and the only thing that ever seems to have revealed from it has been a big update for the Spa Day Game Pack. Packs like Dine Out, which were released 8 years ago, still have big bugs affecting how the core gameplay works.

Looking at the laundry list of developer fixes, it appears that the core issues in Dine Out, along with many other issues plaguing the game, are in the to-do. Some of the issues, such as texture breaking when combining certain jewelry, seem like a simple quick fix, but things like routing issues will probably take a bit more time.

For now, we can expect some "optimized for games to use less memory" In the May update, reducing the amount of crashes EA also promises to continue "core improvements in the Sims4 performance.""We believe that EA's plan is to co-exist the game with the upcoming project Rene, so it would be best to clean the house early rather than later.
