Mythos skins are now available for purchase in Overwatch 2, but, not surprisingly, they are ridiculously expensive.

Blizzard has changed the way mythos skins are available in Overwatch 2, introducing a new store, new currency, and (sort of) new ways to get them.

The Mythos Shop is the new home of Overwatch's rarest "stamus" and features Mythos skins from at least two seasons ago. Instead of getting each skin with each season's Battle Pass, you'll be able to choose whatever you want. If you want this season's Mercy Mythos skin but regret missing out on the Season 1 Genji skin, you can buy that instead. However, if you want to buy a skin from last season or the season before that, you will have to wait until the third season to get it in the store.

Skins can be purchased with the game's newest currency, the Mythos Prism. Thankfully, they can be earned simply by playing the Premium Battle Pass. After completing one Battle Pass, you'll have enough prisms to purchase four levels of customizable Mythos skins. Or, if you're impatient and have a hole in your pocket, you can pay the $80 outright.

It's a ridiculous amount of money, considering that paying $10 for a battle pass will get you enough to buy a mythos skin and all the goodies in the other tiers. That said, there will no doubt be people willing to pay for it, and one cannot blame Blizzard for setting an unreasonable price for something that people will undoubtedly whale on. Even Blizzard's news article on the change actively recommends purchasing the currency via Battle Pass rather than buying it outright.

Overall, I feel that this is definitely a good change. The Battle Pass didn't seem worth much when it was mythos skins for characters I had never played, and the new changes create more freedom of choice. There is still a hint of FOMO that the mythos skins will disappear for two seasons, but they are not gone forever. My main complaint is that it is another currency among many, each with an increasingly confusing purpose for newcomers to understand.
