[This week sees the beta of "Frostpunk 2," and next week will see the release of "Manor Lords," which will be at the top of the wish list, as well as "Vertical Kingdom," "Laysara: Summit Kingdom," "Of Life And Land," and other city Building Games will appear.

But when it comes to city builders, May is not to be outdone, so keep your eyes peeled. One of my favorite city builders, Fabledom, will be exiting Early Access on May 13 with version 1.0. The trailer is below.

If you haven't played Fabledom yet, this is a fascinating sim in many ways. A fantasy city builder, you do the typical mayor's job of building houses and farms, harvesting resources, and managing the economy. If you've ever wanted to build and manage a fairytale city, you've come to the right place. You can also woo princes and princesses from other kingdoms and invite them to your city.

During the year-long Early Access, many new features were added, including a barter system, weddings, quests, mythical creatures, military buildings and soldiers, etc. Fabledom's 1.0 release will bring troll invasions, new rulers from neighboring countries, "fantastic disasters," and more to your s storybook city packed with even more fantasy." The "Fantastic Disaster" is described only as "an event that brings new fantastic creatures to your realm. Screenshots of dragons and witches flying over the city may suggest what is causing these disasters.

I haven't played Fabledom for a while, but I hope to get back into it when it comes out on May 13. There are plenty of nice screenshots here so I can start making plans to build my own fairy-tale city.
