Roccat is no more; the peripherals brand from Germany, acquired by Turtle Beach in 2019, will be retired and all existing product lines will be migrated to the Turtle Beach brand.

"We want to bring a higher level of integration to our product family across consoles, PCs, and simulations," a statement on the Turtle Beach (formerly Roccat) website reads.

"We felt it was best to focus under a single brand and spend the time and resources to create a range of products that matter most to gamers."

First and foremost, PC peripheral brand Roccat was acquired by Turtle Beach in 2019 for a total of $19.2 million. At the time, the move was cited by Turtle Beach as a way to expand outside of its existing console consumer base. At the time, Roccat was also considered a strong brand in the German PC gaming peripherals market, but apparently not strong enough to survive long term.

Products such as the Roccat Vulcan II Max and Roccat Burst would simply become the Turtle Beach Vulcan II Max and Turtle Beach Kone. However, the Roccat sticker may remain, as a complete rebranding will take time.

Roccat's social channels are noted to be rebranded to Turtle Beach PC, and past posts from the X Roccat account show that the change has already taken place. However, if you try to read Roccat's X account directly, you will see a big sign that it has been deleted. So perhaps that subtle "PC" rebranding plan has already been scrapped.

Customer support has been handled by Turtle Beach customer support since shortly after the acquisition, and the process should remain exactly the same: if you have a problem with a Roccat product, just contact Turtle Beach.

In other words, it's just a name and a face, and practically nothing will change. While it is unfortunate that a relatively well-known PC brand is being discontinued and replaced by a brand commonly used in consoles, in the long run it doesn't matter. After all, it's all just a brand; it's the actual hardware that matters.

On that note, Turtle Beach has introduced several new products under the PC Gaming umbrella that bear their name. There is the new Vulcan II TKL Pro, a compact keyboard with Hall Effects switches, and three gaming mice: the Burst II Air Wireless, Pure Air, and Pure Sel. There is also a new headset for PCs, the Atlas Air.
