How to watch the first episode of Fallout without subscribing to Amazon Prime

Prime TV's Fallout series is just a few days away, but there is a way to check out the first episode even if you are not an Amazon Prime subscriber. As befits a TV show based on a video game series, the Fallout premiere on Thursday, April 11 will be broadcast live on Twitch.

"Adventuring in Wasteland is dangerous, so come along for the ride with friends," Twitch said on Twitter." Join this list of amazing streamers to watch the first episode of "#Fallout" live on their respective Twitch channels on April 11."

These streamers are Shroud, BrookeAB, TheOnlyRyann, DEERE, CohhCarnage, KingGothalion, ThatBronzeGirl, DansGaming, SweeetTails, Elspeth, Techniq, Swiftor, GassyMexican, Tooniversal, and bloodyfaster. They all plan to stream the first episode of Fallout on April 11, although no exact time has been announced.

The Fallout series is set 219 years after the Great War (about 10 years after the events of Fallout 4) and follows "three archetypal protagonists" in the wastelands of Los Angeles. Ghoul (played by Walton Goggins) is a bounty hunter who survived the bombings hundreds of years ago, Lucy (played by Ella Purnell) is a vault dweller visiting the ground world for the first time, and Maximus (played by Aaron Morten) is a steel bond squire.

Jonathan Nolan, who directs the series, is an avowed "Fallout" fan, saying that "Fallout 3" "ate up about a year of my life" and that it would be "foolish" to try to please all fans with his film adaptation. Nolan said, "I really don't think you can try to please the fans or anyone but yourself."

Personally, I am glad that the "Fallout" series is presenting a bright and colorful post-apocalypse, and there are many moments in the trailer that suggest the show could be good. In any case, we won't have to wait long to find out.
