This base-building automation game is like Factorio in space, complete with bullet hell combat and Dyson spheres.

Have you ever seen a trailer for a game and thought, "I don't know what the hell is going on, but I know I like it" It looks like a Factorio-style automation game, only it takes place in space.

Here's the trailer:

The base you build looks pretty big, but don't worry about running out of room. Developer Never Games Limited says, "Explore and expand the universe with endlessly generated maps filled with stars, planets, black holes, ruins of ancient civilizations, and ancient artifacts useful for factories."

"What's the best way to power a giant space station?" It's hard not to get excited about the idea of a Dyson sphere. A Dyson sphere is a structure so massive that it could completely surround a star, capturing nearly all of the star's energy output. In the trailer above and the GIF below, you can see the Dyson sphere being assembled.

Your space station doesn't just float there motionless, either. You can attach a rocket to it and it can move through space. You will need that mobility and a lot of weapons and defenses. Because you will encounter life forms that will not take kindly to your hard work.

"Design space stations and connect them through careful logistical planning," the developers say.

"Advance your vast technology tree with infrastructure. Automate the production of a huge fleet of ships that will grant special abilities and help protect the base from local aliens.

These aliens may have a reason to attack - part of the game seems to be to kidnap aliens and build dark matter machines that need to suck out their minds. Yikes.

And if you're not interested in bullet hell space battles, don't worry: The Final Factory has a pacifist mode that allows you to experience exploration and building in a chilled-out way.

If all this looks as good to you as it does to me, don't wait long: Final Factory will be available on Steam on April 9.
