Since the release of Stardew Valley's 1.6 patch last week, many players have been playing the cozy farming sim and trying to discover as much new content as possible. And as more and more is revealed, it is slowly becoming clear that Eric Baron did not explain all of the spooky new elements in his patch notes.

At face value, the appearance of mannequins in Stardew Valley doesn't sound all that exciting. Once you unlock the Calico Desert, you can buy as many as you can afford for 12,000 gold a piece. Then, once the mannequins are in your home, you can plan the clothes you want to hang on them. Unless you encounter a cursed mannequin, the mannequin does not do much else.

Stories of strange encounters have been flooding Reddit threads and Discord discussions over the past few days, with many believing that the cursed mannequin has a life of its own and a sinister agenda.

One Reddit user, Piper1336, had a particularly creepy interaction with the cursed mannequin. Harmless, right? This morning the mannequin was wearing my clothes. The same clothes I was wearing when I went to bed! The clothes shown replaced the clothes my character was actually wearing."

This may have been a one-time oddity, but the same strange mishap seems to have happened to other players; ClafoutisRouge explained that the mannequin has been moving around his room and even blinking at him, and other players have They agreed that they woke up to see it in a different place than where they had been the night before.

Players shared that the cursed mannequin is only dropped by the haunted skulls that roam the Dangerous Minds. However, I still absolutely refuse to even place a single mannequin in my home, just in case I might get a bad egg.

There is no confirmation from Eric Barone about this change, so it may be an elaborate community creepypasta rumor, but it would not be the first creepy addition found in 1.6. Last week, some players came across a particularly brutal cutscene involving Mr. Qi at the Summit.
