According to Eric Baron, Stardew Valley 1.6 needs to be "bug-free and released to all platforms" before work on Haunted Chocolatier can continue.

Despite the fact that the 1.6 update for Stardew Valley was launched last week and is now playable on PC, Eric Barone says that work is not yet finished and that he does not want to move on to other projects until all work on 1.6 is complete.

When asked by a fan if there would be an update on Haunted Chocolatier (Barone's next project), he simply replied: "I just said: 'No, I don't know. But first we have to finish Stardew 1.6 without bugs and get it out to all platforms."

It is understandable that it takes time to iron out the kinks. In his replies to almost all of his recent Twitter posts, you can see players pointing out bugs and problems with 1.6, and for almost all of these inquiries, there is a reply from Baron right below it, asking for specifics so he can look into it You can see that he is.

For example, one player noted that during the event where the player brings maple syrup to the forest, the bear looks eerily off to the right. Barone responded that this bug will be fixed in 1.6.3.

Three months after we received some news about Haunted Chocolatier, the last update arrived on the official blog on Christmas 2023: "Work on Haunted Chocolatier is well underway. Mainly, we are working on the core elements of the game. We intend to keep working on this for a while. This is because we want to surprise people with the game rather than reveal everything. I like to work in secret."

Frankly, if I had as much work on my plate as Barone does, I would work just as secretly. Still, I can't wait to see what awaits me in Haunted Chocolatier, and like everyone else, I eagerly await updates about the next cozy sim that is about to take over my life."
