Skyrim mod fixes most glaring realism error: immortal food

The problem with Skyrim is that everything is too permanent. Swords, armor, sweet rolls, drop them, sell them, eat them (no swords and armor...). It's a plastic fantasy world where nothing ever ends.

Thankfully, an enterprising modder named RavenKZP has created a Simple Spoilage series of mods. This modder has divided the corruption system by item type, with a Simple Food Spoilage System, a Simple Ingredient Spoilage System, and a Simple Carcass Spoilage System.

This is honestly quite impressive and is targeted at those who do survival runs of the game. As you can probably imagine, food left outside or in your inventory will eventually become old, gross, moldy, and either totally inedible or strangely attractive, depending on whether it is Italian cheese or not.

I rather like the idea. After all, it is quite puzzling that Skyrim injects everything edible within its borders with enough antiseptic to produce a documentary on Morgan Spurlock (remember Morgan Spurlock?). Raven is only concerned about the health of the Nords.

Of course, adding entropy to Skyrim is easier said than done. If you want to play with these mods, you first need to install a few prerequisites on each mod's page; once you have all the mods installed, you can install the Base Object Swapper and Container Item Distributor, which will allow you to play with Skyrim's countless The chances of finding untouched food in Skyrim's countless dungeons are greatly reduced if you install the Base Object Swapper and Container Item Distributor after installing all of the mods. After all, the bodies there are rotting, so why not the food?
