General
PSA: Diablo 4 is now available on PC Game Pass, just in time for the biggest update ever.

Game Pass subscribers can play Diablo 4 starting today on the eve of the most massive update to date.

On May 14, Blizzard will release Season 4 of Diablo 4, overhauling almost everything about it. But that doesn't mean you can't jump into Season 3 right now and get nothing out of it. The game's campaign is worth seeing through, and there are a few things that can carry over into the next season.

Game Pass players will need to create a Battle.net account and use the launcher in order to play the game. The installation process is a bit complicated, but can be completed by clicking Install Diablo 4 in the Xbox app on Windows and connecting your Microsoft account to your Battle.net account. Once that is done, you can launch the game just like any other user on your PC (except Steam users).

In other words, you'll be able to install the PTR for Season 4 next week and help test the massive changes coming to Diablo 4 in May. blizzard has brought characters up to level 100 and will have two new crafting systems ready to play Progress on the PTR will not carry over to the production game, but will serve as a good demo for what is to come.

Otherwise, I would take the time to play the campaign that follows the disastrous events of the Diablo 3 expansion, Reaper of Souls. Humanity is nearly wiped out and demons reappear. It's easy to get confused by the twists and turns, but Diablo 4's campaign is at least a great introduction to the world and how to develop your character toward level 100. And it will prepare you for Diablo 4's first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, which will be released later this year.

During play, there will be objectives to earn Renown in each region. Maximizing Renown before Season 4 begins will make leveling up new characters much easier.

Season 3 is still going on, and we recommend playing in the season areas first, as you can get powerful little spider pets. When Season 3 ends and we move to Season 4 on May 14, your character and items will move to the Eternal Realm forever.

Just don't get too attached to a particular build, as many things change in Season 4. If you need a break, you can always load up "Control" in the game pass and blast through a non-Euclidean building full of demons of a different kind.
