Diablo 4 Loot Rework PTR Begins April 2, Season 3 Extended to Mid-May "to Ensure We Get All Feedback"

Blizzard announced during today's Campfire Chat livestream that a major rework of the Diablo 4 loot announced in February will be released in the public test realm on April 2.

Diablo 4 players may note that the PTR dates are very close to the scheduled end of Season 3. To ensure that this does not happen, Blizzard has extended the current season from its scheduled end on April 16 to May 14.

"We are postponing it for a few weeks to ensure we get all the feedback from this PTR and apply it to Season 4 to make sure all these new system changes we are making are correct and will work for the community based on everyone's feedback." Diablo Community Lead Adam Fletcher said during today's Campfire Chat livestream. Season 3 will conclude on May 14, and of course Season 4 will launch on May 14 as well."

The PTR will only be available to players on PC via the Battle.net client, which Fletcher said "can be a bit more nimble," possibly due to more stringent compatibility requirements on consoles.

However, he added that Blizzard is looking at ways to make it accessible to console players as well in the future: "We are going to explore other ways that we can offer the PTR to players in the future, if there is a PTR.

PTR players will be restarted, but will be offered a "boost option" so players can get to the good stuff quickly and other aspects of the game will be cleared or unlocked to facilitate testing.

Full instructions on how to get into the PTR client will be posted next week as a fully detailed blog post. A dedicated PTR forum will also be activated to allow testers to more easily share feedback.

Today's Diablo 4 livestream will delve deeper into the major itemization changes coming to the game in Season 4.
