"Dragon's Dogma 2" has finally been released, but if, like me, you're new to this RPG sequel and wondering what the best profession (aka, class) for Arisen is, don't worry.
In an interview with GamesRadar, Itsuno revealed that, in his humble opinion, there are two professions that are best suited for someone with little experience with Dragon's Dogma games or RPGs in general:
"If you're an FPS or third-person shooter player and good with AIM, archer might be a good fit. If you're an FPS or third-person shooter and you're good with aim, then the archer might be a good fit," says Itsuino. Or if you play more of a close combat game, where you're rolling dodges to get out of the way of enemy attacks and then counter, then the Thief would be very well suited for that type of player."
Personally, I think archers are the safest bet. In most tough situations, I always want to be about an arm's length away from the action. However, I also like to roll around on the floor to dodge the oncoming attacks of the dreaded creatures, so the Thief profession is not a bad choice. [I'm not ready to start a new game and jungle a profession that seems so complicated.
"There are so many variations in gameplay from place to place that it tends to vary quite a bit, but for now, my main setup is to have three pawns as sorcerers.
Warfarers have a variety of weapon types and combinations available, which skilled players can master. These fusion powerhouses seem incredible, but in a game as extensive as "Dragon's Dogma 2," where you can fight griffins and cyclops, it's better to stick to something more straightforward. This is because, Itzuno points out, each party has its strengths and weaknesses.
"However, there is no such thing as a universal party. 'This party structure I created is great for bosses, but at the same time it can be annihilated by a pack of wolves. So there is not always only one right way to win. But when you go into battle, you should always think about your party composition."
