There is already a "Dragon's Dogma 2" mod that allows you to get 99 "appearance change" items that Capcom sells for real money.

I haven't once thought about Alicen's mug since I put the helmet on her head, but even I am annoyed that in Dragon's Dogma 2, changing appearance is not a God-given right. Instead, character and main pawn modifications come in the form of a book that you buy in town. The book, "The Art of Transformation," is purchased not with regular gold, but with a rare currency called "rift crystals," which are obtained by finding rift stones or sending pawns out to help other players.

This alone is a functional system, but Capcom has received its fair share of flak for selling "Rift Crystals" and "Art of Metamorphosis" as DLC since day one. Thankfully, modders have already uploaded workarounds, making re-creating characters much easier.

With the mod "Early N' Cheap Art of Metamorphosis" by Nexus user SilverEzredes, the transformation tome, which normally costs 500 RC, can be purchased for only 10 gold from one of the earliest vendors in the game. This vendor can be found in Merve, the first major town in Dragon's Dogma 2

. To actually use this book, head to one of the barberies in the main city (the first one you will find is in Varnworth) and select "Modify Appearance" at the bottom store. If you proceed to the main city of Varnworth, some people cannot find the vendor in Merve. It is unclear whether they simply disappeared at some point or have moved somewhere else.

To get the mod up and running, you first need another mod: the Fluffy Mod Manager, the same used for other Capcom games like Resident Evil 4 Remake, Monster Hunter Rise, and Devil May Cry 5 Manager, and seems easy to set up.

Of course, it's still early days for the Dragon's Dogma 2 mod, but it's encouraging to see players already tuning the RPG to their liking by removing weapons required for professions, increasing carry weight, and moving the weapon transmog tool (in development) for the fighter class It's encouraging to see that they are. Not bad for a release date.
