FF14 Dawntrail releases in July, early access a few days before

"Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail" will launch on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, with Early Access taking place a few days earlier on Friday, June 28. Director and producer Naoki Yoshida announced these dates through an interpreter when he took the stage at PAX East 2024. He also announced the pre-order and collector's edition perks that will accompany the release of the expansion.

Those who pre-order will get an early access date of June 28. They will also receive the "Final Fantasy 9" minion Windup Zidane and the earrings of the sun goddess Azeema.

The Collector's Edition comes with the "Final Fantasy 9" minions Windup Garnet and Ark. It also comes with a Chocobo brush for Pictomancer, the cool paint wizard from Dawntrail.

As for why the release date was set for July 2, Yoshida said he "thought people would be interested in playing the Ring of Elden DLC" and gave them a week "to enjoy it" before Dawntrail is released.

Dawntrail is the next big expansion content for Final Fantasy 14, which has been around for quite some time now. It was announced last year, but had not had a release date for quite some time, as producer Yoshida thought it would be better not to reveal a release date than to delay it again and draw attention to it.

Anyway, the Dawntrail trailer has a very cute chinchilla in it, so if you haven't seen it yet, I suggest you go check it out.
