In 2017, indie studio Runner Duck released Bomber Crew. This game, we said, was not quite a World War II version of the spaceship sim FTL, but pretty close.

In 2020, Runner Duck followed Bomber Crew with Space Crew, a game even closer to its inspiration. The "Legendary Edition," which includes a new campaign, away missions, and an unlockable legendary crew, will be available on Steam until March 13 for a total of 0 space or earth dollars.

The giveaway is meant to promote Runner Duck's next title, "Badlands Crew," where you can create and control your own adorable Mad Max war rig and enjoy tactical post-apocalyptic shenanigans. The studio has found another genre for a chaotic and fun time. It's a giant repurposed truck covered in guns and fuel tanks, possibly with musicians playing loudly, speeding through a wasteland while fending off hostile gang attacks. Sandworms also make an appearance.

Badlands Crew is scheduled for release in late 2024.
