In a far future world where science fiction cats rule the universe, you are an employee of Nekokami Inc. and are responsible for world building with the help of spiritual technology. By placing tiles to make the biome larger and more complex, you can provide more habitats for the kami, the nature spirits that drive your efforts. Also, for some reason, the most powerful gods all seem to be cats.

Nekokami will be interesting for fans of tile-arranging games like Dorfromantik, but with challenges and puzzles that focus more on objectives rather than chasing open-ended scores.

The demo currently available is called "Nekokami: Internship," a flippant game in which you build a world as a genie's servant. It offers about 3 or 4 hours of gameplay, starting with a very simple world with a predictable twist and ending with a slightly more challenging game that will test your knowledge.

"Nekokami" is produced by Rocket in a Bottle, an independent studio based in Fukuoka, Japan. The studio intends to specialize in "small, beautiful, mysterious games on PC/Steam Deck," and this is their first release. Their design philosophy seems to emphasize the idea of "small but wonderful." In other words, "low-budget games should not be shallow or mediocre."
