Thirteen years after Eidos-Montréal released its 2011 "Deus Ex" reboot, "Human Revolution," my appreciation for this cyberpunk immersive sim's brilliance has not diminished with each passing year.

With Human Revolution, Eidos-Montréal decided to operate in the same world as the legendary first "Deus Ex," and the previous entry in the "Deus Ex" series, "Invisible War," was heavily criticized by many critics and sold (in my opinion, quite unfairly) The Deus Ex series was in the doldrums. So the fact that "Human Revolution" received a staggeringly high score of 94% in PC Gamer's review shows what a great job the developers did.

Watch Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut on GOG

I recently replayed Human Revolution and its sequel, Mankind Divided.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution was later released in a Director's Cut version (the definitive version in my opinion, with almost all the minor flaws of the original fixed), and it is this version that is currently on sale on GOG at a huge 85% discount. In other words, you can now get this game and its sequel for less than the price of a cup of coffee. Details are as follows.

If you already own "Human Revolution" or want to double your "Deus Ex" enjoyment, the sequel to "Human Revolution," "Mankind Divided," is also on sale at GOG. While the sequel offers a slightly less memorable story, it reaches an even higher level of immersive sim possibilities. New augmentations and weapons are also available.

As for how these two games play today, both run flawlessly on my rig (Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti, 32GB RAM DDR4, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, ASRock B450M Pro4), with butterfly smooth frame rates. However, while still gorgeous, these are older titles, and any PC gamer with a half-decent rig should be able to run these games without a problem.

In my opinion, both of these games are an absolute must-play for fans of immersive sim games, which is why this director's cut of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" has over 22,500 "very positive" reviews from gamers on Steam This is backed up by the fact that it boasts over 22,500 "very positive" reviews from Steam gamers. The release made and continues to make a huge impact on PC gamers.

My only complaint in the shoes of the protagonist Adam Jensen in these two excellent games is that his story is left on a cliffhanger at the end of Mankind Divided. Elias Toufexis, who does an excellent job voicing Jensen, has said that he had long hoped for a third installment in the series, but with Embracer (who now owns the "Deus Ex" IP) cancelling production of the new film and firing the developers who were working on it, it It seems unlikely that it will ever happen. It is truly sad that "Deus Ex" as a series now seems to be in limbo.
