Horizon Forbidden West's highest PC settings require a GPU, which did not exist when the game was first released, and 150 GB of SSD space.

Aloy returns to the PC with "Horizon Forbidden West," coming this month on March 21. In anticipation of the arrival of the open-world epic "Horizon Forbidden West," developers Nixxes and Guerrilla have detailed what it will take to make the game work and what we can expect in terms of graphical customization.

Forbidden West was released on PS5 a few years ago, and to run it on the highest graphics presets on PC, the developers recommend a GPU that did not yet exist at the time, recommending an RTX 4080 or RX 7900XT. However, that is only if you want to play at 60 fps in 4K. The recommended specs are much lower: RTX 3060 or RX 5700. This will allow you to achieve 60 fps even if you are using a 1080p display.

Of course, it is a vast and impressive game, and we expect to see some additions in the PC port. When the first game was released on PC, it blew my mind. Naturally, whatever presets you use, you will need 150 GB of storage space, and as is becoming more common, an SSD is recommended. Thankfully, SSDs are becoming much more affordable these days, so if you're thinking about buying one, check out our list of the best SSDs.

Not long ago, we used to complain that games needed 100GB of space, but that requirement seems to have jumped significantly; "Starfield" required 125GB and "Jedi Survivor" a whopping 155GB, but these games have one thing in common In the case of "Forbidden West," the expansion "Burning Shores" is also included. It's a gorgeous package.

I haven't looked at the graphics options menu yet, but apparently there are quality settings for textures, detail levels, shadows, water, terrain, and more. Of course, there are options to turn off unwanted garbage like motion blur and film grain. Radial blur, ren flare, bloom, and vignette effects can also be adjusted.
