Someone put a Breakout clone in Google Calendar.

According to itseieio's TikTok bio, they "make dumb games," but I would argue that putting a brick-breaking game into Google Calendar is a galactic brainchild. As the video explains, they spent two weeks refining the game, adding color-coded explosions as you smash your scheduled rendezvous to smithereens and adding a realistic-looking trail behind the ball. Most importantly, however, they could turn down weekly town halls and Thursday afternoon "quick chats" by hitting them with the ball.

At the end of a round of BreakTime, you are asked if you want to decline all the one-on-ones you just damaged. So there is no need to skip the stakeholder meeting for a video game. But you will be tempted every time a round ends and a pop-up appears. How about putting it in hardcore mode and skipping the teleconference?' It might have been better to use e-mail anyway.

The original Breakout was an arcade classic developed by Steve Wozniak and released in 1976. Sequels like "Super Breakout" and clones like "Arkanoid," "Off the Wall," and "Wizob" appeared a few years later, and "Brick Breaker" and "Block Breaker" emerged as names for the genre, but "Breakout clone," for example something that fits, just as one would not call an FPS a "clone of Doom."

If you would like to try BreakTime, you can get it from the Chrome Web Store. You can use the arrow keys to control the bat, and if you decide to turn down all meetings, you can explain to your boss why.
