General
Lego included a custom-made TTRPG adventure in the 3,745-piece D&D set.

As announced last year, a collaboration between D&D and LEGO is underway to celebrate the 50th anniversary of TTRPG, including a set of LEGO Ideas (previously called Dragon Keep: Journey's End, now titled A Red Dragon's Tale ), was conceived by a fan designer named Lucas Bolt.

The set has 3,745 pieces and comes with six unique minifigs and monsters made of blocks: a displacer beast, a beholder, a myconid, a mimic, and what looks like a gelatinous cube.

I'm a particular fan of the Owlbear. I'm about to rip that adventurer to shreds, but look at him.

In addition, the set has its own custom-built D&D adventure, which LEGO Insider can download for free. However, this adventure will also be offered in D&D Beyond, along with the mini character sheets offered in the set. A paperback version will also be available, which can be purchased with 2,700 "Insider Points" earned by purchasing other LEGO products.

The Red Dragon story itself will be available on April 1 (or April 4 if you are not a LEGO insider) at the online store for $360. The Dwarven Forge full painted terrain set, for example, is around $124-198, depending on how fancy you want to get. Still, this is a novelty item for a big-name crossover, and fan designers will get a cut of the proceeds.

Speaking of which, Lucas Bolt will join LEGO designer Jordan Scott and D&D guest stars in a live-streamed one-shot on April 6. It will be streamed on LEGO's website and D&D's YouTube and Twitch channels:

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't more than excited to see these guys on the digital screen together: Luis Carazo is the author of Exandria Unlimited: Calamity," and I've been watching Ginny Di's videos for a while; for those of us who overlap in the Venn diagram of TTRPG-lovers and brick-lovers, April is shaping up to be a really good month.
