According to Steam, "Fallout: New Vegas" is the second most played game of all time (after "Crusader Kings 2"), but I still want any excuse to fire it up again. Lucky for me, several enterprising modders are holding an online contest set in the Mojave Desert of NV.

Called "Ready Courier One" and created by a modder named TommInfinite, the mod is an "online Fallout: New Vegas contest where anyone can win cash prizes. The contest centers around 26 riddles about various aspects of Fallout lore. Upon installation, you are presented with a riddle, and you press the N button for the answer (which can be anything from an NPC to a little static object), which can be found somewhere in New Vegas or its DLC (except Honest Hearts, for some reason). I know what I did.

But this is all online. Your answer will be sent to a server somewhere far away, and that server will decide if it is correct or not. the first player to answer the 26th and final riddle will win three games of their choice from the Nexus Mods Donation Points store: Divinity: Original Sin 2, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Crusader Kings 3, and Fallout: New Vegas.

This is an idea I really like, and a great way to breathe life into an old, dusty classic game. To give as many people as possible a chance to participate, the set of puzzle-solving games will be released in three installments. The first set is being released now, the second set will be released on January 21, and the final set will be released on January 27. The person who answers the last riddle will get a code phrase to post in the comments section of the Nexus Mods mod and will be the winner.

The contest requires a few things to make it work, but nothing more complicated than a regular Skyrim mod: you need NVSE, the JIP LN NVSE Plugin, and the SUP NVSE add-on, and all you need is the Ready Courier One .rar file You just need to drop the contents of the Ready Courier One .rar file into the Data Files folder in New Vegas.

You will also need to obtain an API key from Nexus Mods and plug it into the pop-up box that appears when you first launch the game. The winner will then receive loot.
