The Xbox Series S two-slice toaster is now available.

In news that will delight gaming fans and breakfast enthusiasts the world over, the rumored and legendary Xbox Series S toaster has been spotted for sale at Walmart. No, not really. Look, the Xbox logo is baked into the bread!

Digging into the list, the spec sheet reveals that it is as impressive as it is comprehensive: LED digital countdown timer, six toasting color adjustments, auto-off feature, removable crumb tray, "extra long slot," etc. This toaster really does have it all. However, these pale in comparison to my favorite feature, the "auto-centering guide." Perhaps it's just a feature to keep the logo imprinting feature in line, and not a useful guide for those who generally have trouble getting bread into the toaster.

The product detail sheet is full of little gems: it starts with the line "Optimal Carb Experience" and gets worse and better from there, suggesting "keep a list of settings for everyone" among family members and roommates.

After these suggestions, if they allow us to continue to live with them, we can show off the non-stick exterior with its iconic Xbox Series S circular grill, or use the countdown timer to protect ourselves from the breakfast-induced fear of jumping up and down.

This is truly a toaster for the modern gamer, and we can only be thankful that it has made the leap from whispered rumors and enthusiastic speculation to a truly purchasable product that can be placed in your kitchen right now.

I would even suggest that the design is so subtle that a non-gamer would find it unremarkable, meaning that it is possible to sneak it into one's usual morning routine without being noticed by other household residents.

They say that good design is timeless, and somehow that clean white box with its circular grill seems more at home on a breakfast appliance than a game console. We recently featured a tea-themed gaming controller, and we can only hope that this will be the latest in a long line of breakfast-themed accessories.

Razer has taken the lead with its own toaster, and if you ask me, it's time for GPU makers to step up to the plate; the day I brew my morning coffee in a kettle shaped like the RTX4090, I will die happy.
