New "Arcane" Season 2 Teaser Gives Glimpse of Vander's Dark Fate

It's been a long wait since the (literally) explosive cliffhanger finale to season one of "Arcane". And November still seems a long way off when we learn that Season 2 will be released this year. To keep us moving forward, Riot has released the trailer.

In this 45-second clip, we get an extended glimpse of the moment we saw at the end of Season 1, when the mad scientist, Singed, is enjoying a self-funded cure in the shadow of his monstrous experiments. The final crisp shot of the behemoth suspended from the ceiling by chains and embedded with glowing mechanical parts seems to largely confirm already established theories about the fate of fan-favorite character Vander.

In Season 1, Vander appeared to have died saving Vi after she was fatally wounded and overdosed on the supernatural drug Shimmer, mutating into a monstrous creature. But then the Thinged took his body (alive or dead?) for his own purposes. This is consistent with the backstory of the League of Legends character Warwick, a sort of cyborg werewolf monster created by Singed, suggesting that Vander will become Warwick in Season 2.

In this new clip, we can more clearly see the mechanical parts that Thinged built into Vander's body.

Beyond that, there is not much more that can be read from this teaser (although the subreddit will prove me wrong). But this is not the only Arcane release today.

Riot's look at League of Legends into 2024 includes upcoming champions, skins, esports events, and more, but it also touches on incorporating Arcane elements more directly into the game. Characters from Arcane will be added as champions, led by Ambessa Medarda (Mel's imposing Noxian mother), new skins, visual updates to existing champions, "Arcane-inspired gameplay," and "other surprises" are also in the works.

With the success of Arcane, it is only natural that Riot would bring the show and the game closer together, which also ties in with Riot's new approach to canon announced last October. Basically, the developer wants to tie all future content into one cohesive universe, and wants the events of Arcane and other spin-offs to remain true to the League of Legends universe. arcane more directly into the future of LoL. influence, which would certainly facilitate that.
