Bethesda will finally show off Indiana Jones gameplay at its Developer Direct showcase later this month.

Three years after its initial release, the Indiana Jones game in development at MachineGames is finally ready for the spotlight. Microsoft announced today that the game will take center stage at its next Developer Direct showcase on January 18.

Despite the time that has passed since the Indiana Jones game was announced, we still know nothing about it, including where (or when) it will take place. This Developer Direct showcase is about to change all that: according to Microsoft, the presentation will include details about the setting and story, "how fans will actually play as indies," and, and this is a big but, for the first time ever gameplay trailer will be shown.

Optimists might also expect a release date, or at least a target for it: MachineGames has not announced anything about a release date, but at this point it should be close enough that developers can at least guess.

Indy's game is the headliner, if only because it's the game we've known the least for the longest, but it won't come to the show alone.Obsidian is set in the world of "Pillars of Eternity" first-person RPG "Avowed" will show off its first "deep dive" (honestly, that's the one I'm most excited about), and Oxide Games will show off its "Civilisation meets Crusader Kings" historical grand strategy game "Ara: History Untold" with The company will reveal gameplay, "key features" and future plans. Ninja Theory will also reveal details about the development process of "Senua's Saga Hellblade 2," including "the ambition and meticulous care that went into creating Senua's survival journey."

Fans of The Elder Scrolls Online also have something to look forward to: at the end of DeveloperDirect, ZeniMax will give a world reveal of TESO 2024, with new zones, stories, and "the biggest update of the year," the next chapter of New features to be implemented will be introduced.

What you won't see at this Developer Direct is Activision Blizzard. Microsoft finally completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard in October 2023, making it the new home of "Call of Duty," "Overwatch," "Diablo," and many other well-known games, but there will be no updates from the A-B development team until "later this year."

The Developer Direct event will begin on January 18 at 12pm PT/3pm ET/8pm UK, with the worldwide announcement of "The Elder Scrolls Online 2024" one hour later.
