MSI has developed its own Founders Edition for the RTX 4080 Super, which is surprisingly large.
[MSI must have liked Nvidia's Founders Edition design, because MSI has taken the core push/pull fan concept of Nvidia's RTX 30 and 40 series FE cards and reworked it in its own RTX 4080 Super 16 G Expert and reworked it in the G Expert.

MSI said it liked the way Nvidia's Founders cards efficiently move air from one side of the chassis to the top of the GPU and out the other. This has been Nvidia's approach since the RTX 30 series and has proven to be a popular choice, although the design has been significantly improved with the 40 series.

MSI borrowed the core concept of FE but offered a completely different look; Nvidia chose a sleek stealth black design for their new Super cards that everyone was talking about at CES, while MSI brought a more professional look they have chosen. We think it lives up to its name.

Like many RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 cards, this card is much larger than expected when approached. It must be about half its actual size, and among the sea of graphics cards in MSI's CES 2024 booth, this card stood out. However, I don't think it will be to everyone's taste.

MSI will roll out its Expert line as the Super cards approach; Nvidia plans to release them throughout the month, starting with the RTX 4070 Super on January 17; the RTX 4070 Ti Super will follow on January 24 and the RTX 4080 Super on January 31, to be followed by the RTX 4080 Super on January 31.

But as much as I like MSI's take on the Founders Edition, it's no match for that all-black RTX 4080 Super FE... Sorry MSI, but I like stealth builds.
