World of Warcraft: we have known for some time that Dragonflight will not be adding a fourth raid, according to an interview with game director Ion Hazzikostas. However, as Blizzard revealed yesterday, a fourth season including Fated Raids and a recycled tier list that the community can vote on will be offered.

"We are trying something new. We'll have remixed gear for each Specialization."

[7 To determine what each class and spec means to you, you will be asked to vote on your favorite class appearance and favorite specialty set bonus from the first three seasons of Dragon Flight.

That means the Season 4 armor set will look like a bowl of glistening pick n' mix. Even a cursory glance at the three tier sets available to us shows a pretty big difference in aesthetics.

Set bonuses will also be reused, but will be specific to each specialty by community vote, as Blizzard explains: "So, in Season 4, Demon Hunters will vote for sets with the Season 1 look, Season 2 set bonuses to Havoc, Season 3 set bonuses might vote for Vengeance.

I have a couple of criticisms in reply to this post. First, PvP players are concerned that their set versions will be determined by what is best for PvE players. Second, since Season 4 is just the end of Dragonflight reusing old raids, what is the problem with making all the set bonuses available?

From where I'm sitting, this is a really cool way to get the community involved in deciding which tier set they want for the last bastion of Dragonflight, but it's really asking for trouble. Anytime you let the player base vote on something, factions form and people get upset.

On the other hand, it is a low stakes, fun kind of trouble and I enjoy watching it from afar. If you don't get exactly the tier set bonus you want, don't let the current raid progression get away from you - even if your specs are going to be stingy for a while. according to the 2024 roadmap, season 4 will start this spring.
