Despite little information yet, it has been confirmed that the next season of Diablo 4 will go live in less than two weeks. The current season, Season of Blood, will end on January 23 at an undisclosed time (probably around 10 a.m. PT), and Season 3 will begin the same day.
Blizzard recently updated the character selection screen when you first log into the game to indicate that "the next season begins on January 23, 2023," as Wowhead discovered. The last season transition worked the same way, but Blizzard has never officially stated that seasons always work this way. However, the name of Season 3 is still a mystery, as is its theme. So far, there have been two seasons, one about "malignant" monsters like zombies and one about vampires. The next one will have to do with the broken skeleton helmet-wearing figure in the teaser image released at last year's BlizzCon.
Diablo 4 players are getting impatient, but X developers have assured everyone that news will come "over the next two weeks," including a stream before the season starts.
Several things have been confirmed about Season 3, including:
Season 2's exclusive systems, such as the Blood Harvest event and Vampiric Powers, will disappear after the season ends; Blizzard is working with some of the Season 1 Power They have not stated whether they will incorporate the most popular powers into new items in both the Seasonal and Eternal realms, as they did. I pray that it will, so that I can turn into a cloud of bats when I use Evasion for Eternals.
There is still time to play Season 2 and collect as many uber-uniques as possible before all the characters and items are sent back to the Eternal Realm. I only have one of these ultra-rare items, but if I have to beat the only boss that drops these one more time, I'm going to fall asleep.
