When deciding on PC hardware, nothing is more subjective than the choice of monitor. For some, high resolution is all that matters, while for others, color reproduction is everything. But for a select few, a high refresh rate is key. If you find yourself in this happy tribe and happen to be looking for a larger screen on a tight budget, this Acer Nitro monitor may be just what you need.

The Acer Nitro XZ323QU X3 packs a lot of features into its 32" frame, including a 31.5" panel with 1440p resolution, 240Hz refresh rate, FreeSync Premium, anti-glare coating, and 1000R curve. Newegg is currently selling it for $300, a whopping $150 off MSRP.

On the back, all the usual connectivity options are available, including a DisplayPort 1.4 input and two full-featured HDMI 2.0 ports. The rather attractive stand has a variety of tilt, swivel, and height settings to take full advantage of the immersive curved panel.

Buying such a large and fast screen at this price point means you are looking at a VA panel with the usual caveats, and it would be fair to expect the odd ghosting compared to some of the more expensive IPS options. However, with an advertised GTG response time of 1ms to 0.5ms, the Acer Nitro is certainly well spec'd compared to just about anything else you can get at this kind of price and size, and while HDR 400 support is probably not ideal, HDR in general is still a mess Given that it's still a bit of a mess, one might be somewhat forgiven given the substantial discount being offered here.

If cost-effectiveness is a priority, with large screen sizes and high refresh rates, this monitor is worth a look at this price. This may not be all there is to say about large displays with high refresh rates, but there is certainly a lot to offer at this price.
