Diablo 4's new season throws so many rare items at you that it was definitely considered a game-breaking exploit around the time of the game's release.

Season 2's Blood Harvests are a revamped version of Diablo 4's Helltides, which are essentially limited-time events that take over a portion of the map; like the Helltides, the Blood Harvests have chests and other objects to find loot There are many demons that drop unique currency that can be used on objects.

In the center of these green-tinted zones, a skull icon will appear on the map to let you know how much time remains. They are also the exact locations of three "Blood Lure Pedestals," which can be activated with Blood Lures dropped by enemies there. Each pedestal requires 50, but can be activated by any player in the zone.

PC Gamer's Sean Martin and I had success activating the pedestals and waiting for other players to show up to do the same; activating all three spawns bosses that drop tons of loot. Comparing screenshots, it appears that each boss always drops at least two Legendary items.

In Season 1, it was unusual for multiple Legendaries to drop below level 50. However, according to Blizzard president Mike Ybarra, this is completely intentional.

"In case you missed it," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "loot drops have changed (based on feedback) in Diablo season 2." There is no longer a gate (i.e. the same drop from level 60 to 100), but it changes with each monster level. As you level up, higher [item level] gear drops all the way up to 100."

"Basically, each time you level up, you get new and better loot. For example, you no longer get the "same" stuff all the way up to 100 when you get to level 60," he wrote in his reply.

It's true, and it's hard to believe how generous loot drops have become. Last season people complained about gems taking up too much inventory space, now they have their hands full with Legendary, I hope no one at Blizzard stops the loot hordes, they've been doing it for years.

Diablo 4 Season 2 is live now and will continue through January 23.
